Delhi, India August 30, 2025 — From the bustling streets of Srinagar to the furthest rural corners, Qasim’s story speaks to the heart of every young dreamer in Kashmir. As the driving force behind the Youth Matters Foundation and recognized social political activist and policy analyst, Qasim has dedicated himself to one goal: empowering youth to reclaim their futures and drive systemic change.
By personally engaging with youth in conflict zones and underserved communities, Qasim delivers a message that is both fearless and practical: “They tried to trap our youth in the illusion of violence. I chose to break that illusion—permanently.” Hundreds of boys and girls previously on the fringes now thrive as students, volunteers, and grassroots leaders.
The movement’s reach is growing. From campus activism to social media campaigns, over 7,000 youth now form a dynamic network redefining what it means to be Kashmiri and Indian in the 21st century. These young voices, once silenced by fear, are staging workshops on mental health, leading art festivals, participating in inter-community sports, and mentoring younger peers.
Their collective impact is visible: more students are returning to school, fewer are drawn into extremist networks, and hope is a growing currency across the valleys. “Leadership is not about position—it’s about action, and I choose to act,” Qasim emphasizes.
Qasim’s plans include launching more regional youth councils, expanding scholarship opportunities, and continuing to model inclusive, real-world leadership for the next generation.
